• Conventional Ceramic Tiling

  • TEKSER - Always worthy of your trust...

Conventional (traditional) tiling system has been the most widely used method in many countries before the introduction of Vibration method. Our company is the best expert of this method as well. (TEKSER takes the benefits of applying both methods.) Despite the advantages brought by the vibration system, we continue using the conventional tiling method when required by our customers.

The mechanical epoxy grouting process is the fastest, the highest efficiency and the highest quality application in epoxy grouting practice in Europe. This application consists of double component (powder+liquid) adhesive and mechanical epoxy grouting application using materials at international standards. Polyflex-412+Serkit-12 double component adhesive including acrylic+latex contents has strong adhesion properties and high chemical resistance to stop probable leakages. Thanks to its elastic structure, it doesn’t allow tile movements resulting from hot and cold expansions on the surface of the floors.

There is another application method using single component adhesive and manuel epoxy grouting practice. Having higher quality than similar applications in the market, this method contains tiling with single component (water/powder mixture) adhesive and epoxy grouting by hand. However, manually filling of epoxy might leave pores in the grouts resulting hygiene problems. Moreover, it’s very dangerous to have gaps and pinholes in the grout. We never experience this problem with mechanical grouting.

JOB SEQUENCE:

  • Primer flooring is applied on the surface after handing over the concrete floor free of dirt and contaminants. It enables a strong adhesion of tiles and substructure.
  • In order to optimize the amount of leveling screed, the levels of base concrete should be determined according to the directives of our experts.
  • The screed is surrounded with elastic expansion bands both around the walls and columns.
  • On top of the substructure, Polyflex-412+Serkit-12 double component adhesive is applied by 8 mm notched trowel. Acrylic adhesive system containing latex additives has valuable technical characteristics such as preventing spread of cracks to the other tiles, high chemical resistance and adhesion properties on tiles having minimum water absorption.
  • Alternatively, tiles can be installed by using Serkit Granit single component adhesive.
  • The tiles to be used are TEKSER Porcelain Tiles with dimensions of 200x200x14 mm in compliance with R10/R11 surface safety standard. Tiles will be installed with minimum 3-4mm joint space without any weak point underneath.
  • At each 8×8 m interval or whenever the areas worked on are technically and decoratively eligible, high chemical and temperature resistant mastic expansion joints will be applied and the subject matter expansion joints will dilate both the tile and screed.
  • The joints between the tiles will be filled by means of mechanical grouting by using Technoflo epoxy material. The tile surfaces will be mechanically cleaned of epoxy.
  • If any stainless plates are requested to be installed, then these must be assembled in line with our directives by using a set-square and also the level of the tile must be taken into account for aesthetic purposes.
  • Cove base skirting tiles will be installed with the above mentioned adhesive and grout material in compliance with the food safety standards.
